എന്നാല്‍, പുതിയ രീതിയില്‍ കാഞ്ജി ചിഹ്നങ്ങലില്‍ മാറ്റം വരുത്തുന്നതിനെ വിലക്കുന്നു. രാജ്യത്തിന് പുറത്തു നിന്നുള്ള പേരുകള്‍ സര്‍ക്കാരിന് തലവേദനയാവുന്ന സാഹചര്യം ഒഴിവാക്കാനാണ് പുതിയ നിയമമെന്നാണ് വിശദീകരണം. ചുരുക്കത്തില്‍ സ്വന്തം മക്കള്‍ക്ക് എന്ത് പേരിടണം എന്ന് തീരുമാനിക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശം പോലും ജപ്പാനില്‍ മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ക്കില്ല.
